I was able to pull the sight all the way out. No set screw....it was GLUED into place. Does that sound right? I bought the gun new 3 months ago.

I'll go back to my first answer, I personally would not like it that loose but then I have enough guns that I wouldn't be inconvienced sending it back. Out of curiosity if you look at the bottom of the sight can you see if any material has been removed to ease installation? If that is the case then all that needs to be replaced is the rear sight which would be much better than having to replace the slide. However I have never had Heinie sights on an XD so I don't know if they are naturally loose. You might have to ask SA but at least you will have more information when you talk to them.

Underneath the sight, there is a small area that is machined out. It looks like they fill that void with glue / loc-tite, hold the slide upside-down, insert the sight, flip the gun over and let the glue / loc-tite dry.
I called SA and they will pay for the shipping and repair.

Good for you. Their response time very good.

Got the slide back from SA and all is good. Will take it to the range tomorrow to check it out.
They even sent the slide back in a neat little carring case that is just big enough for the pistol and 1 mag.
No charge and they paid for shipping both ways even after I told them it was my fault the sight came out.

Find an advertisement for Springfield's promo offer where they were selling 3 mags with a mag pouch. Same plastic case.
