Does anyone know the weight differences between a loaded Compact 45 with a 10rd mag vs a 9mil service with loaded 10 and 16 rd mags .

The 45 will be heavier due to the weight of the ammo, but the difference with 10 rounds of 45 VS 16 rounds of 9mm shouldn't be huge.

"lowlife" is correct the 9mm gun only will be heavier due to the bore of the barrel. The barrel walls are thicker on the 9mm barrel so your major weight difference is in the ammo weight. The difference in the weight of the polymer frame is minimal.

Now a 13+1 .45 you'll feel some difference or a 10+1 9mm. It's all comes down to the amount (and type) of ammo. |

Xd 45 Compact vs 9 mil service
Thanks guy for the info, I have a 45 compact and picked up a 9mil service today. The slide on the 45 appearers to be slightly wider. The 9mil grip is slightly narrower and the 9mil service grip length is about a 1/2 inch longer, but with the pinky extension that I have on the 45( great add on) the forward or longest portion of the pinky extension is about a 1/4 of an inch longer than the 9 mil. I have the Houge grip covers on both, also good.
I can use the same holster and if I use the 10 rd 9 mil mag it will be slightly lighter than the 45 compact with the 10 rd mag. Now I have to Cross the border into PA go to Cabellas and pick up some !6 rd mags. Pete V |
