Saw a few XDm's at the gun show this weekend
Went to the gun show in Houston looking to see what pricing was going to be on the XDm's. Im thinking about getting the bi-tone since all my handguns are all black so wanted something different. One place was trying to sell it for $735 which the guy there had no idea why it was so much. Another place that had it was selling theirs for $689. The cheapest I saw which was all black was for $549 which was reasonable but $735 for the bi-tone is ridiculous.
I think they might have thought people were going to snag it up like they did the XD45 with the manual safety. Now you cant find them anywhere. Im sure in the next few weeks the bi-tone will probably be around $599 on the high end. I have to say after looking at it up close I did like it alot more. Only thing I didnt care for and thats just personal preference is that the barrel is 4.5 inches compared to my 4" service. I think it would make a great range gun but not sure if I would use it for my personal carry. |

You can obtain the bitone cheaper from this pawn shop in Katy where I buy my XDs brand new. PM me if you would like. I purchased my Service and SC from them. They were a lot less expensive than Jim Pruetts and other shops. I bet if you wait this initial release hype will die down. Bi tone is a big price difference from teh black, but the bitone looks amazing on the XD-M while the black looks *yawn*
I went to the show and saw one place have the bitone for $700 almost. The slide is easier to rack with the new trapezoid milling instead of a square block, the grip has much better traction. People were also price gouging the hell out of the Ruger LCP.

Yea I just think they thought they were all gonna sell out like hotcakes which didnt happen. The one dealer who had it in black for 549 even said nobody has been asking about it at all and most likely if I come back for it, it will probably still be there which I did come back again and definitely it was still there.
I purchased my XD45 with the manual safety for around 469 I believe so I got a decent deal on it. Usually, I like going to the one in Pasadena becasue its smaller and guns normally go for less compared to a bigger gun show. |

I saw an XDM at a gun store yesterday, and I have to say I'm slightly unimpressed. It looked a lot like an HK at a distance (and just happened to by lying in the display case next to some); much less distinct than the current XD. The Bi-Tone adds a lot of character (and I'm partial since my XD40 is Bi-Tone).

It's interesting to note that there's not a word in croatian media about the new XD-M (HS-M). This may indicate the gun is meant only for US market?

Perhaps... but it does have the SA/HS Croatia stamp on the slide.... perhaps the "M" designation & model design changes 'belong' to SA USA, but I wouldn't doubt they'd market it outside as well... it'd be more profitable. On the other hand it could just be there for legal purposes.
