It does remove more of the pre-travel as it pre sets the trigger.

It sounds like reading through the rest of the posts, he just needs to open the legs of trigger spring a bit.

I just installed mine last night and it took out a good chunk of the pre-travel. The pistolgear website says its a 50% reduction, which seems about right. Just to be clear, I am talking about the Springer Precision kit with the new sear and springs.

I opened the legs of the trigger spring a bit, and all is better now. I knew it had to be simple Trigger feels pretty smooth. I still have that other tiny spring that goes in trigger to replace, but gotta find a punch small enough.

Thanks for all the help

Yea the trigger bar will remove a bit of pretravel but not much. Just to the point of trigger reset. I guess it depend on how much trigger reset the gun has to start with.

Sorry, but I'm to chicken-sh** to touch a gun that far. Maybe I'm over-reacting, but messing with components like that seems better suited for someone who knows what they're doing and will do it right.

Feel the fear!

Half the fun of shooting is getting to know your weapons...tweaking them for your desired need.....perfecting the basic tool! When I first got into guns , I too was a bit perplexed....but what is the worst that could happen? Would you have to give it to a gunsmith to fix or put back together?....I have garnished enough knowledge just reading these and and other boards that I now feel comfortable putting the finishing tweaks on a gun and I get a great feeling of accomplishment doing so.....go ahead feel the fear and embrace it!....you will get an intimate view of how your weapon really works and have some sense of accomplishment when you do it right!

1. Nice avatar. "I am the great corn-holio!!! Do you have TP for my bung-hole?" Okay, that was bad.

2. First, I should probably BUY my own XD before I try it. I really want an XD45, but they fly out the door so fast, and the 2 gun stores near me carry so few of them. Damn Bay Area small-arse gun shops with limited selections...

Maybe in the mean time, I'll fiddle with my Ruger KP345 or FNP-9 when I feel adventurous (or bored, just kidding) enough. You are right with what you said.
