XDM Pricing
Ok, so I just got a peek at the XDM dealer cost. Sorry to break the news, but this is no longer a low $400s pistol. It looks like it will be retailing in the mid $500s for the melonite and around $600 for the bitones, after the initial buying frenzy/price gouging passes.
What do you guys think about this pistol AT THIS PRICE POINT? Would this destroy any interest? Does it not matter to you at all? When I first saw an HS (back in 2000) at $250 I thought to myself "I'd be afraid to shoot that..." When they became $450 I thought "Wasn't that just $250 like a month ago?" Now that they've proven themselves in the marketplace, I believe they are worth their current price point, but what of the XDM? I personally think $600 is a lot for an updated version of what was once $250. At $600, you have a LOT of good options in a handgun purchase. What are your feelings on the new price point of the XDM? |

Off with their heads!!!
Nah, I will have to pass for that price. I was thinking I would pick one up for the mid-low $400's. |

XD-M price is similar to what you wouldve spent modding a XD with new barrel, tuned trigger, improved grip texture. Im sure 16+1 means a lot to some of the .40 shooters out there. There a swappable back insert for the grip as well.

XDm isn't an XD self defense replacement it's a plus-up mostly pointed at match work.

Understood. The question is more "what do you feel of the XDM at its price point?"

Comparing the XD to the XDm is not a fair comparison. Consider the XD to be like a Mustang Deluxe and the XDm to be like a Mustang Bullitt. Same idea, but the Bullitt model includes performance features and styling that the Deluxe does not. The difference between these two models is $11k.
The XD is for the average shooter. The XDm is for those looking to take their game to the next level. Race on... OS

For what it is, I don't think the price is all that bad. I'm gettin' the bi-tone for $622/OTD. Yes, a bit higher than I would like to pay, but that won't stop me.
I would like to know the dealers cost on these, if anyone knows. BTW...Someone had posted some pictures of the trigger/sear system of the XD(M), but now I can't find them. Anyone have them? |

I have spoke to three XD "experts", all USPSA GMs. They all say the same thing about the XDm. The trigger is not that much better if at all. If you are going to run this gun, a trigger kit or job will be required. Scott Springer has already been working on the required sear to make it happen.
