Are they wider, longer, or of a different design?

The gun is a new design. New and old will not mix.

Someone on this forum posted some pictures of the internal parts, but I can;t remember where or who.

I know they were pissed about the changes and didn't really care for the new model.

I think the .40 is far superior to the XD model .40 from a shooting standpoint. I'm more biased toward how guns shoot and function, and the slide improvements and grip are enough better to make it shoot so much better than the other model .40's the price difference of $150 is worth it to me.

Also the XDm grip will open the .40 to people who never really had one fit them correctly.

The take-down change SUCKS (from a shooters point of view) and I stand by my opinion that anyone who can't make sure a gun is unloaded should not disassemble or for that matter, handle one.

I don't the the XD will be obsolete by the XDm, but the XDm will fill a HUGE void in the XD line (which was a real capacity .40.)

BTW, you get 19 rounds of 9mm in the 125mm .40 magazine tick tock tick tock

Nope, that must be a super gold star pricing, which the average dealer can't get. Dealer pricing is much more and easy to calculate. Most dealer pricing is $25 - $50 less than a good online price.

I double checked with the SA rep on the pricing, you have to sell a boatload of guns to get gold star pricing too.
