My Stimulus XD 9mm & Ruger LCP

Well I went out yesterday after selling my marlin .22 model 60 and bought a new XD Subcompact 9mm. Right after purchasing I went online to mark my Marlin as sold on the local classifieds website, and I saw a Ruger LCP for sale for $260. Needless to say I had to purchase that one as well. I will get to shoot that one this evening as my BIL is picking it up today. I am very pleased with the 9SC... I had owned a .40 SC and while the recoil wasn't bad, the 9mm is much better.

Here are some pics... Also includes my Kahr PM9 that I think I have decided to sell... The LCP will join the little family tonight.

UPDATE:

here are pics including the Ruger LCP. I fired about 50 rounds through it tonight and I think its safe to say that the 500 rounds I purchased for it months back will be plenty for a few years. Got it for $280 and the price on the box was $299. I can tell the kid didnt clean it once, most likely why he had feed problems. Cleaned it quick before i went out and will clean in again here shortly. Thanks for reading my post.

I am interested in buying an LCP, maybe another for my bro. I held one at the houston gun show and was very impressed when compared to a kel tec (real cheap and flimsy feeling). However dealers were price gouging the daylights out of it, saw 3 for sale from various booths $330, $375, and $425!)

i lurked on the ruger forums for about 30 min and most of the problems are with UMC ammo. Several people have had no problems on other ammo but lots of problems on UMC with the same gun. Apparently the machining on the barrel where the bullet would ramp up to load is too rough and catches on it. Not sure if Ruger has remedied this on later production runs. The problems on LCP are pretty consistant and not random problems, all of which were easily fixable with some extra machining. There was another problem where the hammer would bang the frame on the inside and it caused some extraction issues. Some of the later produced LCPs have a 1/8" cube milled out where teh frame used to get banged up. Problem seems to have gone away on those that are machined.

I might wait a little while on my purchase so the flaws are worked out, according to some of the members even the keltecs had these exact problems, looks like ruger copied keltec a bit too good

Thank you for the quick and detailed reply. I guess I'll have to see exactly what mine is doing and go from there. My brother in law just picked it up, says he has a gun boner although it isn't even his haha.

It fed Hydra Shox, Mag-Tech, Winchester, and Cor-Bon's all just fine. About 25 of each without a hiccup.
