I guess that's why I love my USP's so much, I feel more comfortable keeping my guns with a round chambered but de-cocked, it just makes me feel better knowing that that first DA pull will be very heavy, I hope they release the XD9 SC with a thumb safety.

In fact, that was one of the reasons that my first pistol was a Beretta 92FS. I can decock the hammer and put the gun on safe with one still in the chamber. Again, not needed but comforting to have if you want it.

It must be the military driving the safety as SA is not active in the LE market unless something has drastically changed in the past year.

Last year I handled my agencies switch from S&W 4006s to Glock 22s. Before we committed to Glock, I contacted SA about the XD. At that time, they offered no agency pricing and had no distributors set up to handle LE sales and trades. They did offer an individual officer price through GT Distributors, but it wasn't competitive to Glock's agency pricing and networking. Glock aggressively pursued the sale and helped get armorers trained and has been very good with product support. SA just told me to call GT and see what I could work out.
