All Things XD(M)™ Posted Here...

I hear the new generation of Springfield XD's are here. The XD-M has debuted on GlockTalk. They are not as top heavy, have modular back-straps and are more ergonomically balanced! Looks like an M&P/CZ.

It's too bad they couldn't leave a good thing alone. This is a big mistake. It's like putting tits on a snake. Useless. Why do you think XD's are selling cheap these days??? They're making room for the new gimmicky LOW CLASS ones... After seven great years I am no longer a fan. It supposedly offers higher capacity than any other .40 on the market. When high caps are banned again this new pistol will be useless. My local shops will not even carry these pistols because they believe it disreputes the original XD. I agree.

...I would however consider testing the pistol if Springfield decided to give me one to try.

Then they also modified the slide, slide stop release, grip safety, take down lever, magazine release button etc... No, it's real.

I don't care for it, personally. The wild curves and shapes of the controls look a little to "PX4 Storm" for my tastes, and I think the PX4 is one fugly lookin gun.

I like the simplicity of the original XDs and Glocks, that's part of their appeal. Dressing one up doesn't seem all that necessary to me, but I'm sure someone will buy it.

They're going to loose a lot of supporters because of this. This is ugly and unnecessary. Glock wouldn't pull this kind of crap. This new XD has lost its unique character and now looks like every other new polymer pistol (M&P etc..).

I'll reserve judgment until I can handle one.....though I don't mind the looks I must say.

I know this sounds way emo, but the originals are so better.
