Talking What's up with all the hate

I thought this was XD Talk. Personally I love this new XD-M. The M stands for Match-Grade Barrel, Maximized Ergonomics, Mould-Tru Backstraps and Much More.
I'll post some pictures when I get mine next week.

I have big hands, so changable back straps are appealing to me. The sights are different, the trigger reset is shorter, even the slots in the slide is different and you don't have to pull the trigger to remove the slide.

I'm going for it and if I don't like it I'll let you know.

I FINALLY got my XDM yesterday after contemplating it, and then trying to find one for a few weeks now. It becomes the third XD member of my growing family. I can't wait to get to the range to shoot it tomorrow.

Have a happy and safe fourth of July everyone.

i got to shoot some yesterday with my friend. he has been shooting for a long time, and he tore a nice 2" hole in a squirrel target. i thought i was doing well with my 5" groups with a flier or two, after seeing first hand what my gun was capable of, got me all warm and fuzzy inside. it was a nice unbias approach too, he usually does cowboy action shooting and doesnt shoot many autos, he was impressed with it. and i love it

This is my first XD

After dry firing Scott's (Loves2shoot) at Area 1 last weekend and not winning the one he donated (thanks Scott for the support!) I got mine from a friend that gave me a buddy deal that I could not pass up.

Just crono'd some minor power factor .40 rounds (142pf) and glad I waited for this model.

I've been shooting CZs lately and this platform is much different, but easily it's my favorite plastic pistol.

Hey, I am wondering if anyone knows what fits inthe extra slots in the foam in the XDM case. If you look at the left side there are some pre-cut foam pieces that come out. I have a flashlight holder and a Coast LED light that fits in there prety good but is that what its for? There are also some other little pieces that are cut. Anyone know what they're for?

I take it nobody knows..I can't find antything on the net so I'll put my light there and be happy. If anyone finds out why SA put the cuts there, post it. It just has me racking my brain. I'm pretty sure it's for a light. But those 2 litle round cutouts....they have me baffled.

P.S. I put 200 rounds through the "M" today. That makes 1950 rounds.

The trigger has gotten better and still 0 failures. WONDERFUL. I LOVE it. I have just named it "M". If I ever get mad at it I might call it Emily. It's like falling in love (or lust) with a woman. haha. If you don't have one and you are checking out what people are saying about it...just go get one. Who knows if they are going to make 9MM or 45ACP. .40 is a great cal too. just do it.

Hey Guys-

Went to the range with the XD-M and 200 Winchester White Box's. No jams or anything. Smooth firing the whole time. That makes 350 rds with no problems. This thing continues to amaze me.

I took my parents and brother with me so they could try some of my firearms. My brother, in his infinte firearm wisdom, tried to tell me the sights on the XD-M were off. After putting 3 in a row in the x ring, I told him it was fine and he needed to slow down and aim before each shot. Sorry, I know that was a dickish thing to do, but I was trying to make him feel a little humility.

Anyway, I got home and tried to change out the backstraps as I have been using the medium. That roll pin was very hard to get out, but with a little prodding, I managed to change it out with the large backstrap. Since I have a bigger hand, it may be a better fit.

CAUTION: noob question ahead! ----

What benefit does a match-grade barrel have over my stock one? (XD45 ACP tactical). SA custom list reads:

Custom BARSTO barrel $275
SA custom match barrel $190
Refit existing factory barrel for match grade accuracy $105

Canyon Creek refits factory barrel for $75

thanks

The cuts in the foam in the case are for

a carrying strap for the case that was going to be used but was dropped from the production line. Now why did they put picatinny rails on the case edges? Holds all kinds of good stuff but you can't open the case with anything mounted on it. It is cool but I don't see why.

It is great to hear from you guys that are shooting it and like it. I can't tell you how many guys said they hated it and never picked one up or shot it.

I tried all three backstraps shooting 100 rounds with each and ended using the one that came on the gun (medium). If I got it right, the small is well, just small. The medium is an XD 9mm/40cal size and the large is a XD.45cal. The 16 round mags are great. I really want to send mine off to Springer to get modded for Limited class. That reminds me. I got to call Scott.

I have enjoyed my XDm very much. Over 1000 rounds no problems and I have let two friends shoot mine only to have them buy one on the spot. Anybody have a good recommendation for a comp holster for it? I just want to see if my opinion lines up with others. Kel

Put your loader on the pic rail and used for a lock is what I was told.
