I was gonna stop by there, too. As I was heading that way, the boss man called me for an extra stop. I've had my mind set on the bi-tone, but after thinking about it, I may like the all black version just as well. My current XD's are all black, and I like them fine. I guess I'll make up my mind sooner or later.

Also.... Reduced trigger reset, shortened length of pull, lower bore axis/higher hand position...
This makes it a better competition gun. That said, I already had a Competition Trigger job on my XD45 Service from SA Custom Shop...

Yes, the new trigger system SUCKS. A bunch of BS added because people didn't like pulling the trigger to take the slide off. Somebody really blew it there. Once they become USPSA legal for limited, I'll take all that BS out and make a trigger system that makes sense. Putting 3 dots on the sights took away from the addition of nice serrations and better proportions. The trigger is not better either, actually all the other suckyness added to it, it is virtually the same as the other models. I did a trigger job and it can be made nice, but it isn't nice the way it came. I do like the grip better, and the styling of the slide. I like they increased the slide length so you can use standard springs (it is basically a shorter .45 guide rod and spring.) I like the take down and slide release levers better also. It will hold 20 rounds of .40 with a base pad I modified in a 140mm configuration and the PG mag well looks like will fit with some minor fitting. I'll be posting some photos on my website. In all, the ALMOST did it right IMO. |

So they [SA] lied about these changes? According to their website, they made changes to the trigger.
"The new XD(M)™ trigger has the shortest travel than any currently available polymer pistol along with a similarly short reset which keeps you on target with greater ease for faster, more accurate follow-up shots." I'm not doubting you, but I'd hate to know that SA is flat out lying to me about the new changes. |
