I like the "no pull trigger" disassembly and the match grade barrel with what looks like polygonal rifling.

Put a 5 or 6 inch barrel on it. If that thing can hold 18+1 after basepads and be under 140mm I think it could be a really good limited gun.

Thumbs up

I just love the XD line as a whole they have it all. I recently bought a Springfield 1911 and I still like my XD's better they just got the IT factor, easy to field strip , accurate, safe and reliable hard to beat.

XD-45 ACP 4" Service (Bi-ToNE)
XD-9 V-10 (BLK) 4" Service (My Fav)
Springfield 1911 (GI/Mil-Spec)
S&W 642 38 Special (Snubbie)w Crimson Trace grips
Taurus 24/7 Pro (4" Bi-ToNE)

Depending on how it feels in hand and a few months into it's release, I'm solidly looking at selling my duracoated, XS sight wearing XD-40 for an M.

Where do you see the no pull trigger disassembly at? I see pictures of them taking off the slide but they are before and after the point that one would pull the trigger for take down. I also think they just shined a light down the barrel in that one picture and looks to be standard rifling.

I like it from what I've seen in the ad, but I wouldn't sell my XD9 to get a new one.

A lot more info is now posted at Springfield Armory. They give details of the new features. It comes across that their intent is for this gun to be used in the "gun games".

It was listed as one of the new features on their website. Guys, I know the beloved XD has a new younger hip brother - but some changes are good and it don't look like they are changing the entire line just updating part of it. I really like the idea of a 16+ capacity .40 for my hunting trips (back up), range time, etc...
