i thought the whole idea behind the xdm was to increase and improve the 40. i dont believe it comesin another caliber.....yet

I haven't really been following the whole XD-M thing.

I was under the impression they used the same mags.
I guess this isn't so?

I read this somewhere else also. The XDM was not expected to come in other calibers, .40 only.

It seems as if the XMD is trying to more directly compete with the G22, by expanding capacity to match that of the G22 and also with th 4.5" barrel, which is what the G22 has.

Since the 40 and the 357 sig basicaly use the same diameter case I would not be surprised if they add the 357 sig to the M line sometime soon, especially since the 357 sig is often used by police.
