The great thing about the XDM is that you buy it in .40 and it holds 16 rounds. For another 150 you get a conversion barrel from Pistol Gear to make it a 9mm that holds 19 rounds. Best of both worlds and the conversion barrel works great. I shot an IPSC match with it on Saturday and running factory ammo it was flawless.

Oh and hi everyone... I'm Shanon
The 9mm has a bit less recoil...the .40 is better in my opinion..all around calibur. have a good one.

I bought the XDm and am very happy with it, if i could get an ICW holster I would start carrying it over my XD 40 sub compact. I also have the 5" tactical 40S&W. I love all of my springfield armory products including an M1A national match

My two cents.

call customer service

I just called SA's customer service line (800)680-6866 and talked to a nice lady about how they need to release the XDM 45 most ricky-tick or there may be an uprising (I was actually very polite). I told her the .40 looks great, but most of my friends are waiting on the .45 (may not be entirely true, as I have some friends that aren't). She said that she had heard that there was demand for the M 45, so I said, "ok, just so you know. We want it in .45 and we want it NOW!" She was very nice, but said that it wouldn't be out until at least after the first of next year.

Same here, the gun shoots great and would make a great carry gun. I hope they start making good leather holsters for these soon.

If you guys want a good carry holster, contact me, as we have a local guy who makes very nice holsters who is doing the "Summer Special" style for the XDM.

Man, what a bunch of retro-grouches! I've been able to fondle one and intend to buy it as soon as I can dump a brand X pistol or two to fund it. It feels a little better and the trigger is slightly better, but not as good as a Prcision River trigger. It still points the same and the sights are better. I just wish it came out in .45 first. Most of you will probably change your tune once you get to finger one. If not think of it this way, there will be plenty of used XDs for sale when the rest of us buy the XDm.

I finally made my decision and put one on layaway. As soon as my CCW comes in I'll pick it up. I'm trying not to think about it too much................
