Are there any plans for a subcompact .45?

Hello everyone

I am a new user looking at buying a subcompact .40 S&W. The problem is I would rather have a .45. Does anyone know if SA is planning on releasing one?

Thank you for your time I greatly appreciate it

Haven't heard of any. If you need a good compact 45, try a Kahr PM-45. Or a 3" 1911.

We've all been waiting and hoping but I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon. Also check out the Taurus PT-145. It's about the same size as an XD subcompact (maybe even thinner) and it packs 10+1 of .45ACP.

Speak for yourself...I for one have no desire for a 45sc and find the XD45 Compact exceeds my needs as a carry weapon. The extra inch in barrel length has no effect on concealment and provide nearly 100fps in velocity. I would venture to say that there are more people who want a Compact version of the 9mm/40S&W than there are people wanting a Sub Compact 45ACP.

To set your minds at ease,
there will not be an XD45SC
produced in the decade.

+1... I love my XD45 Compact for carry duty and it actually replaced another maker's (which shall go nameless) sub-compact 9mm as my daily carry choice.

I cannot comfortably conceal a 4" barrel. It digs into my hip when I sit down. Bucket seats in a car are unforgiving. I haven't tried wearing my pants above my bellybutton though. However, at this time I have no need for the Compact model.

re:

I use to carry the XD 40sc and bought the compact XD 45. The added 1 inch |----------| did not make a difference. And the short grip with the 10 round magazine in it is between the XD40 sub compacts' 9 rd mag and the 12 rd mag.

Check out the Taurus 745. I've never owned one but looks like it may fit the bill for a 45SC. They also have a larger capacity model 145.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I had my eyes set on a subcompact .45. I love the XD design and visual appearence. I wouldnt mind a subcompact 1911 but they are really expensive.

I guess Ill go with the .40 sub compact

Thanks everyone for your time
