I polished my barrel some more, using the most coarse-grit emery polishing compound and a dremel. I was finally able to get it to a mirror today, and finished with Blue Magic.
I then polished the slide levers on the other side. They're polished but still have a little black from the Melonite underneath- I like the look. The picture does not really show how they are polished, but have a black 'tint'. I'm happy
