Switching back to a XD again
First carry gun was a 9mm SC XD, sold that and went to a Glock 21 SF.
Sold that and went to a 9mm SC XD in Bi-tone. Sold that and 3 months ago I picked up a 9mm Glock 26.... which is now for sale. Nothing beats a sub compact XD for carry in my opinion. I just had to waste the time and money to prove it to myself I guess. I'll have pics when I pick it up. |

Wow, going back and forth between SA and glock so much, you should just have one of each.

I went back and forth on the whole XD issue for awhile as well. I bought the .45 Tactical as soon as the first ones showed up at my local shop. My piece just wouldn't work right. I got fed up and traded it off, but the feel of the weapon fit me just right. Fast forward to now, I went looking for a smaller carry gun. I tried the whole j-frame family, small Glocks, SIG .380 and so on. Tried a rental XD Sub compactand loved it (with pearce extension). The abused rental XD ran 100%, so a week after that I went ahead and bought the 9mm Subcomp. While I only have 150rnds through it so far, and no holster aside from the included one, I think I've found my preferred summer carry piece here. I normally carry a SIG P220/226 or Beretta 92FS, and this XD is FAR more comfortable than anything else I have. Plus the handle fits me just right and it is 100% reliable thus far.

I'm interested in why you went back to Glock and not something else?

+1 on having one of both, that way you'll stop losing money going back and forth... Maybe you should get a 40cal XD and get a 9mm conversion barrel, and a 45cal glock with a 22LR conversion, then you'll have 2 guns that act like 4

I wish I had just a little bit of the money that I have spent before settling on the XD9SC. I started out with a SP101, then a Glock27. Carried those for about 10 years and then I went crazy. I got a Glock36 followed by a Glock19 then a Glock26 and a Glock30. Then it was my first XD an XD45C. 1911's caught my fancy so I bought a Kimber Pro-Carry, a SA1911 Loaded and a S&W PD Commander. I tried a PT145 for kicks. Found that I really liked the Ruger P345 and had a short relationship with a S&W 640, then another SP101 and a 3" GP100.
In the back of my mind though had been a XD9SC. When I got mine I couldn't believe how cool this little gun is. I had pretty much been a Glock guy for sake of reliability only. I never really "liked" them. Sure, they worked great and they went bang every time, but I just never "connected" with them. Well, now the glocks are all sold. I only have 1 1911, a SA Trophy Match that belonged to my Dad and the Ruger revolvers are safe queens. I only carry 3 guns with any regularity. My P345, my XD9SC and a Keltec P3AT. The XD is by far my favorite. 95% of the time it is what I have on or next to me. It is the perfect combination of everything that I want in a carry gun. After shooting it for the first time, I knew that it was the one for me. Nothing else works for me quite as good or feels as good in my hand so I'm sticking with it. I just wish that I had done so sooner! From my first range trip, rapid fire @ 15 yards ![]() |

I understand what you mean by "but I just never "connected" with them." Some people might think that's odd, but I totally agree with you. |

That's a problem I will probably always have. Glock 27 or XD9 SC? I recently threw an XD-45 compact into the mix. Not to mention the fact that my 5 shot .357 has been my carry gun for many years and it still feels wierd not having that in my waistband. I wish I could settle on one gun and learn how to shoot an above average group with it.
