Do the Tacical models have less felt recoil than the Service models?

Thumbs up Tactical Recoil

I own an XD45acp 5" Tactical and it doesn't have much recoil at all. I have had a few fingers amputated because of a medical condition, and the Tactical serves me very well.

The recoil is not bad at all in my opinion. I would think that it would be a little less than the service because of the added weight.

A few weeks back I went shooting with my nephew. I have the 45acp Tactical and he has the 45acp 4" service model. We switched guns back and forth and I really can't say there was much difference between the two. Wasn't really checking the recoil on the two guns though. We were just out shooting for the sake of shooting.

We may go out again this Saturday. If I remember, I will check to see if there is a difference in the recoil. I will get his opinion also.

I've got a .45 tactical and a .45 service. I don't feel any differance in recoil between them.

The tactical is a bit heavier so all things being equal it will have less "felt" recoil. However, because the Tactical has a longer barrel and launches the bullet faster that would tend to increase the recoil so just which factor is more important I don't know but suspect the difference is pretty small.
