Down payment on my first gun ever, XD!! - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

I've been here for over a year now, at first lurking, then eventually i started making posts. Now I've been on the forum every day for the past couple months, doing research both here, at the gun shops, at gun ranges, and on the internet search engines. I've found out alot of interesting stuff. Most of it has come from all you guys here at XDTalk.
The semester is over, i took my last final today(american legal systems, which i know i aced btw

), and i finally got a job for the summer, so im working again after a long year. I went down today and threw down 200$ on the first gun i'll have ever owned, the XD9 Service black on black. He pulled a fresh one out of the back for me, its so new the entire thing shines because its never even been in the display case yet. I'm really excited. Next friday morning I'm heading down there after I get paid and paying the additional 300$ and im walking out that door a new man. I've already got 300 rounds of ammo sitting inside a nice size gun safe tucked away in the back of my closet. The girlfriend will be picking me up an addition 250 or 300 this week as well. (i can see myself blowing through 500 rounds a weekend heh)

Anyways, I made a post last week about picking it up but I was unable to, so here I am making another one. I want to thank all of you for everything you've done for me over the last year, educating me, and showing me support. Once I pick it up next week I'll be sure to throw some pics up, not that you havent seen an XD9 Service before, but this one's my baby, so its special

Way to go you won't regret it. Next you will want Night Sihts and then another Xd to keep this one company. It's a sickness so get used to it. If you let your girl shoot it she will be hooked. Better let her get one as well or she will own yours. Have fun you made a great choice.

Sweet! I just picked my XD-40 Tactical up last week and put 100 rounds through it this past Saturday. It was flawless!! They are easy shooting guns. Enjoy!

I did a lot of research as well before I made my purchase (XD .40) & I felt the same as you, All of the info on XDTALK helped with my purchase. I am not being Biased but & don't mean to offend anyone but a lot of the Glock owners are more on the arrogant side. I have not read over 4-5 posts on this forum that were rude.
