Shoot it? I dunno, that's how I'm breaking in mine (and when I get a chance I try to use the slide release as often as possible to loosen that up).

Yea. Buy ammo. Go shoot.
Some people insist on cleaning a brand new gun. I don't. The gun is cleaner than you'll ever get it once you start shooting it. Maybe check it for foreign objects.
