I have wanted to get my CCW for a long time, but have just never taken the steps to get it done. I took the first step once and bought my holster for the Kimber, but it doesn't shoot reliably so I let the idea go.

Well, tonight I ordered my Wilderness Instructor belt with the 5 stitch option and also ordered a Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe with no combat cut... all for my XD40 Service that my late Grandfather bought me before he passed. I figure what better gun to carry that may save my life than the one given to me by the man who gave my father life? Corny? Sure, but I think it's cool.

I also committed to getting my concealed carry permit while taking a few days of vacation three weeks from now.

I'm stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll post picks of the entire rig when it all gets here.

I dont think thats corny at all. I think its pretty cool. I have a few tools from my grandfather that I still use today.

So I think your idea is pretty cool. Not to mention is a great looking gun too.

Congrats on taking the plunge, I'm in the midst of the process myself. I think it's great you were able to share your love of shooting with your grandfather, I wish I was so lucky.

nah, made that mistake a long time ago,,, i'm trying to do good things with my life now, like getting my CCW

Congratulations on the CCW and the carry setup! I'll be getting mine soon as well. I'm just waiting for the Judge to sign my permit and return it to the Sheriff's Dept.

What county are you in? I'm putting in the papers this week...do you still have to go in front of the gun board?
