Battle wounds from shooting today.
I went to another FSN shoot today and had a blast shooting all sorts of guns. Well throughout the day I put about 2-300 rounds through my xd 40sc and about 3-400 through my xd9. Nearing the end of the day I noticed a blister on the inner part of my right thumb in the web between my thumb and index finger. I also noticed that I have a red mark/getting black and blue to the exact shape of the grip of the xd. I have my right hand as far up on the grip as possible and that is where the black and blue has developed. Anyone else ever run into this? Not that it is a big deal, it just has never happened to me before. I could measure the black and blue mark and tell you exactly how wide the frame is under the slide.

Looks like your days activities caught up with you!
Now, if you switch hands will you gain a stroke, er, shot? When I used to ride dirt bikes / motocross I would very often blister the web between the thumb and first finger on the throttle hand... Brian |

This usually only happens if you have girly-boy hands.
I've never had this problem while shooting a pistol, but I've had a black and blue shoulder after tossin' about 75 shells down range with my shotgun. |

Well I dont have girly hands. Shotguns dont bruise my shoulder unless it is out of a saiga sbr so I am not sure what happened.

when i had a Glock 32 in .357 sig my fingers and hand would be black and blue from just shooting a couple hundred rounds...
one solution would be to get a houge rubber grip, trim the area around the grip safety....that should help your hand...as far as your finger, next time you go shooting put some athletic tape on the pad of your trigger finger......works for me

Heh...you want shoulder bruises? Try shooting a Marlin .45-70 Government a bunch of times...ouch...I was black and blue for a week after that...

LOL, the oldest kid had bruises on his shoulder after three rounds the other week of 7.62x54r . . . . I tried to tell him to pull it up tighter, guess he doesn't listen well

I get a "badge" from my AK or FAL but other than that just tired arms when shooting a lot of pistol ( was shooting 100rnds a day during the week back around X-Mass ).

Well since the only two weapons I own are an XD Tactical in 357 sig and a Bushmaster Varminter AR-15 I don't have anything that can bruise you very much. The XD can let you know you've been shooting after about 150 rounds or so but so far no bruises...

My underfolder will give me some bruises if I run a few hundred through it. I got to shoot an fal for the first time yesterday and man those things are accurate.
