New XD
Handled one today at the local dealer. They have both on display, and are taking orders. I think they are about $650 and $695 for the black and Bi-Tone respectively. Grip is nicer, and doesn't feel like you 'need' to put grip tape on it. The mag catch is even better. The sights are nicer. The slide is easier to get a purchase on and racks a little easier, and the trigger is a bit lighter. The ejection port is beveled a bit, and I do like the new look and slide contour. I do like the slide release better - it is smaller, and you can get your right thumb closer to the frame/slide in a two-hand high thumb hold BETTER than the standard XD. Last time at the range, I started to get the slide NOT locking on the last round, and I think it was because of my right thumb. This is the only ergo problem with the XD, and maybe it is better on the XDM. Is it worth $100 more - just could be. Hope the price comes down. I'm keeoing my 45C just the same.
