Can someone explain to me how tuckable holsters work?
I've been looking at tuckable holsters (Crossbreed, Don Hume, Milt-Sparks, etc.) and for the life of me I can't figure out how they work. Now, granted, I have not seen one in person - but from looking at pictures I don't see how one can tuck the shirt in seeing as there's this law in physics called impenetrability. I don't see how the belt clip can securely connect to the holster of the gun through the fabric of the shirt.
If the clips go on and over the belt, where does the tucked-in part of the shirt go? Between the clips and the gun? Seeing as this would pull the shirt very close and around the gun I'd think that this would also create an unneccessary print... but seeing the video on Crossbreed's website shows otherwise. How does this work?

The clips are longer and attach to the holster at the bottom. Picture a V shape. One side is the holster and the other side is the clip. The top of the clip attaches to your belt. Your shirt goes into the V and bunches up a little.

This gives me the chance to ask a silly question that I've been wanting to ask for a long time. Do you guys that wear IWB holsters just throw away all your pants and go buy ones with a 2 or 3" bigger waist? What happens when your out somewhere and decide not to carry, then youv'e got droopy drawers.

If you have not already, you need to take a look at the "Answer" from Tucker Gunleather:
The "Answer" IWB's I've worn my every day for 2 1/2 years now and could not be happier with my purchase. |
