4in XD9 Where is your when IWB?

This is going to be my first gun for concealment. I picked up an XD9 Compact (4in) and a Galco IWB holster. Still waiting for the permit to come so I've only been able to wear it around the house for a bit, but havn't been able to find a comfortable position. (mabey its the holster?)

I am curious where others have found is the most comfortable.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Holster

My holster for a 45acp Tactical 5" came from Gun-Works. It is a IWB holster. It also swivels for added comfort. I wear it at about the 4 o'clock position with a forward cant. 99% of the time I cant tell that I have it on.

+1 on the gun works @ 4 O'clock.. You forget what time it is. Today i had a guy ask me why i was not packing. He knew that i do 99.9% of the time. I had a Tshirt and shorts on. I lifted up my t-shirt to prove that i was. I love the Gun Works holster with my XD40 4" Service

I carried my XD9 service today in my crossbreed supertuck at about 4 o clock and it was great. I canted it as far forward as it could go and its very comfortable, and nobody so much as looked twice, even all my friends that I went out with who have no idea I carry all the time around them. I cant it forward to press the grip against my back so that it doesn't stick straight out. I wear my cargo shorts and a button down shirt and it conceals like a charm, and that's because I'm a pretty thin guy at 6 ft 175 lbs.

I pretty much agree with the above. I wear at about 4 o'clock. I have the 45 Tactical, and even as large as that is, it conceals fine and is quite comfortable. I carry it in a Milt Sparks VM2. It has a forward cant.

Honestly, the holster is probably even more of a personal preference than the firearm. You'll have to find the one that works for you. For me, I'll probably never waste time or money on anything other than a Watch Six or VM2 from Milt Sparks. I have no doubt there are other very good holsters out there, but these work great for me and I've been through a long list of others that did not.

As I said, I wear it at about the 4 o'clock position. There's a bit of pocket back there, and when its in the right spot, its comfortable standing or sitting.

Good luck

The most common carry position for right hand people is 4:00 with a forward cant. This seems to provide the easiest access while still providing good concealment.

It helps to get the body type listed too since that will help narrow down what to look at. I am a skinny guy at 5'11" and 170 with a swimmers build, broad shoulders and narrow hips. Since I have to wear a L shirt it covers just about anything IWB if not tucked in.
