Drank the Kool-Aide a second time!
I got economically stimulated last week, so Saturday saw me getting around to all the usual haunts in my area. I wanted another XD service but in 9mm to pair with my .45 for inexpensive (uh, well, maybe "less expensive" is a better way to put it) practice.
Lo and behold, in my favorite shop a used XD9 V10 showed up for a reasonable price. I really hemmed and hawed a bit before buying, but got it anyway. My funshop still had the mag packs for $40, so I bought one. Gun, five mags and XD gear for $525 otd. After reading the threads on the 9mm V10s I carefully inspected the slide-no sign of imminent cracks detected. The bag with the spent casing is dated 2005, so I presume my gun is NOT melonite treated. The trigger on the 9 is much rougher and a bit heavier than the .45, but the .45 has a very, very good trigger as it is. Is this normal? The 9 has a decent trigger but the .45 has it beat hands down. |
