According to what your use will
be.

CC strickly and a little happy range
work, the service XD40.

Purely range and games, and a little
CC, the Tactical XD40. Which, if you
choose will no doubt cost you more
bucks. Reason: it appears that most
who own them have 'tricked' them out.

That also means more business for our
forum sponsors.

I will not get into the accuracy issue
due to the difference in shooters and
ammo.

I am fortunate to own both, but either
will be a fine addition to your stable.

Sorry about that... Yes, i am getting it for range and games, and some CC.

Can you tell me if there is a noticeable difference in recoil between the two? Is it worth the extra $40?

Thumbs up Quick poll

I had the opportunity to shoot both except in 45 cal. Afterwards I purchased the 45 Tactical because it was an accuracy issue with me. I shot it more accurately and the recoil wasn't as bad. That's just my 2 cents worth.

The 2nd. Amendment says that I dont have to apologize for carrying my weapon.

My concealed carry permit is the 2nd. Amendment

I compared the 40 Service and 45 Service and bought the .45 because of accuracy as well.

Ammo is more expensive in the .45. If you're doing a lot of range, then 9mm might be better for you.

I currently have the XD in 9mm Service and 45 services. At one time or another I’ve also had a 45 Tactical and the ported 9mm 4 inch. I have shot 40s. But for me I’m best with the 45 and have the upmost confidence with that round – provided I do my part. In the end I found that the service model was more practical across the board for me. If the weapon is for CC, practice with what you CC. I found the service better for CC.

But of course, the only correct thing is what works best for you.

Service. Smaller making it easier for carrying, have greater selection of holsters, negligable velocity difference between the service and tactical, and the service will be the first model to have a conversion kit made for it.

Cool. thanks everyone again!!

I believe I am going with the 5". I dont plan to do much CC on me, so should not be to much of an issue. If so, I will go with the Super Tucker and a bigger shirt
