Testing the waters... anyone interested in this?

I need a new slide to set up for shooting suppressed. (XD9 Service)

If I buy a complete gun and keep the slide, would anyone be interested in buying the frame?

Why not just get a new barrel? A tactical(5") barrel in a service model, have the barrel threaded. There are aftermarket barrels out there that can be bought for cheaper than buying a whole new firearm just for a different sized slide.

Cuz my 9mm slide is the 5". I need the 4" slide also to set it up with the requisite raised sights.

I don't understand if, you buy a threaded barrel for you 5" Tactical slide it will be about 5 1/2" long with threads sticking 1/2" past your slide. Unless you just want a shorter gun for the suppressor.

Yes, I want a 4" slide as a dedicated "upper" for shooting with my suppressor. With raised sights. I will get a 5" barrel and thread it. But I want the 4" slide.

I do not presently own an XD9 Service. (I own an XD9 5") That is why I want to buy one and "split" it with someone.

I don't know that anyone would really have use for the frame. Get the service keep the Tactical as is just by an aftermarket 5 inch barrel for the service, have it threaded, add a suppressor. Then you will have two (great)functioning firearms to use.
