does this mean, when i have nothing in the chamber and load a full mag.. that i shouldnt hit the slide release to load the first round? huh???
Nope. What we were saying is don't open the slide then put a round into the chamber manually then release the slide. You've seen it done on TV, the guy with the slide locked open picks up around inserts it into the chamber and then drops the slide.

Correct. The manual states that to load the XD, lock the slide back without a magazine, insert the loaded magazine and then press the slide release lever.

I personally don't release the slide without a loaded magazine because with my luck...I'll break something.

Not advised and not beneficial. Other than that, go for it.
