How do you adjust the OEM trigger?

I just bought a new springfield XD 40 bi-tone and love it. I was noticeing on their web site they say the trigger pull is from 3 to 5 lbs, does that mean its adjustable? thanks for your help!

3 - 5 is not realistic out of the box 5 - 7 is more like it. You can install Canyon Creek Springs and Powder River Safety Lever Kit and maybe get down to the 3 -4 range with some polishing. You will also reduce the pre-travel and trigger reset making it a very good trigger system.

Springfield's custom shop has info about a 3# trigger modification for competitive shooting, but it's not intended for general carry or self defense use I believe. You can't adjust the trigger pull weight without doing modification of springs and the trigger sear block. Search 'trigger job' on xdtalk and read away.
