This is exactly why I ordered mine with the Trijicons from SA.

the XD45 i bought had it's rear sight tapped off to the right for someone else.. i tried tapping it back, and of course it didn't move..

i'm thinking about using dry ice to make the sight/slide constrict and then try to tap it back into alignment with the marks on the slide..

it's pretty unreal how hard these sights are to remove/adjust..

None have the screw, just tigher than a clam's ass.

If you want the XS, SA's custom shop will remove the factory, and install the big dots for $105- less than the cost of the big dots. It took about 10 days including the weekend from shipping to receipt of the slide. Costs $8.95 for SA to ship back, about the same to ship to them USPS Priority Mail. Since it's not legally a firearm to ship the slide, you don't need to declare it.

I just got them, shot 150 rounds on Sat, and I'm still shooting 1 foot low and 4 inches left at 7 yards, even if I shoot from a sand bag. The range master shot the gun, and got 2 bullseyes.

I can't afford enough .45 ammo to "learn" to shoot the XD. BTW, I brought my S&W model 36, 2" bbl and put 5/5 in the black at 7 yards- it's not that I don't know how to shoot a gun.

I'm going to move my rear XS right, and buildup the top with steel-repair epoxy about 1/8"+ and get the gun shooting where I point it already. I shoot archery and coach. I can't imagine shooting somebody's bow, hitting bulls eyes, and when they shoot at 20 yard and hit low and left telling them "well, pinch the muscles in your ass tight, and crinkle your nose as you aim, then you'll hit the bulls eye too, plus it will cost you $75 each time you come to the range to practice- we're not going to move your sights on the bow".

$105 to install them WITHOUT the sights?!?! So if you get the XS sights and have SA install it it comes out to about 225?

No, that is installed with the sights included. It is a very good deal actually.

To clarify, I shipped a slide and a check for $113.95, and got back the slide with the XS Big Dots, plus the original sights in a little plastic bag.

Contact SA customer service, they always responded in << 24 hours to answer specific questions.
