I'd call it to the owner/managers attention. If they don't correct the problem, let them know their method of doing business will be passed on to the Internet XD community.

Any dealership that allows sales people to spread blatantly false information (lies) is a place you probably do not want to give your business to.

I've just learned from my close croatian sources at HS Produkt that XD is indeed recalled. For selling too fast and they ran out of stock.

Wink Recall my back door..

Umm, yeah.. Not so true! I agree with everyone else here.. There has been no recall. I have to use both of mine for work, and service weapons are strongly scrutinized. So if a recall was to occurr, I would know about it in a heart beat, along with several other law enforcement personnel!

There was a recall on some of the S+W handcuffs and ASP cuffs.. LOL! But that doesnt relate to this!

I'd write a letter to the owner, and cc both Springfield and S&W customer service deaprtment. Real letter, paper and your signature. Just describe the event, names and dates, and ask for a clarification of the XD recall since you can't find anything.

It will take you 30 minutes and 3 1st class stamps, and be worth the fireworks it causes.

Maybe cc your state unemployment benefits department too?

Some online dealers quote shipped, so the transfer fee would be nullified by your local taxes and you can pretty much compare price to price then. Out of about 7 or 8 guns I've bought this year, only one was at a local dealer.
Wow! That's a great way to keep your local small town shop in business!

Call me crazy, but in this economy it's just not practical to subsidize a "local small town shop" at $100+ extra bucks per gun. I'm no fan of Wal-Mart either, but the only reason I don't shop there regularly is the fact that I'll spend 12 cents extra on something just to not have to wait in the checkout line for an extra half hour. It has nothing to do with them killing mom & pop.

If you want to make it as a business, offer a better service, don't just wave the small town "aw shucks" flag and expect to charge high prices and get away with it. Especially when the average customer is not swimming in disposable income.

I payed a bit more(Not much) at a local shop run by a couple young guys. Bought both my Kimber and my XD and would go back or recomend them. Not only did they give me proper info and knew what they were talking about but treated me with respect. Two things you most likely won't get from a big store. Well worth the couple extra bucks I payed.

was it Vance's? i bought my XD9SC from there and one of the sales reps was really weird about the XD's he kept steering me towards the M&P's. and he kept telling me about problems with XD's but he had no proof. i didn't like him so i left and came back another day and the second rep was much better and helped me look at what ever i wanted. he had every glock you could think of b/c he likes them allot but said that if he wasn't totally in love with glock he would have XD's
