Someone posted that over on GlockTalk in a thread I hijacked.

Cracks me up that 15 of the 16 committee members prefer the XD. I am going to follow up on it and see what happens. Will be a good example of who makes big decisions in situations like these; the politicians who are worried about $$$ or the law enforcement agency who actually has to use the stuff.

I suspect the politicians will win, but sincerely hope the PD does.

As much as I like my XD I'm surprised that so high a percentage of PO's preferred it over the Glock.

I think it's unlikely they pass up the free Glocks...

just the fact that they are contemplating BUYING XD's, and new holsters instead of getting FREE gloks that will fit in existing holsters says lots about the XD.

That is so true. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

I think SA should step up and offer them free or highly discounted. They need to get some market share going. The sales will follow once they are LEO proven.

Speaking strictly as a taxpayer, I like free.

Glock must be worried if they are giving away free product.

Why dont departments let all of their officers decide which gun they like best according to which one they can better USE?

We all own/use guns we are comfortable with, why shouldnt PD officers be able to do the same?

I am all for XD's being more popular but it might not be the best choice for every officer.
