1st outing with the new XD9

Having leaned towards 1911's for 30 years or so, the XD9 was different....... not at all unpleasant, just different.

Shot 500 rounds, without any malfunctions of any kind. The trigger took some getting used to, but I adjusted well, for an old fart with trifocals.

This was one of the later targets shot at 25 feet from a modified Weaver stance. (16 rounds) ....uh, the quarter is not hiding any holes .....

Looks pretty good for your first time out with it. So do you like it the XD9? I ask as you seem indifferent in your first sentence. I have an XD9 Tactical and Sub-Compact and both are 100% reliable. I'm a 1911 guy myself and although it does not have a 1911 feel my XDs are more comfortable as I am able to get a higher grip.

I like it, but it's not gonna replace any of my 1911's. I"ll use it in the classes I teach, and for plinking, but I don't see me carrying it any time soon. I much prefer the XD grip to the glock, and I like the trigger better than the Sig. It's just gonna take some getting used to.....
