Stand off device

Does anyone know where i can get a stand off device for my XD's and other semi autos. I know the guide rods in the XD's act as a stand off device but you have to put it at bit of angle for the gun not to go out of battery and under pressure during a hostage situation, that is not going to happen. I also know i can use a gun light as a stand off device but i don't plan on having one attached to my gun while on duty.

Anything you put on the rail as a stand off device is going to limit your holster use.....and if your gonna do that you might as well rock a light.

A stand off device is any device that forces the muzzle of the barrle away from the intended target.

On this Mossberg, it has a stand off device (used for blowing off locks)

Um, I'd say any revolver, rifle or shotgun doesn't need a standoff device to fire like a semi-auto does!

Why would get close enough to someone else with a gun in their hand when the other person is not compliant? Don't firearms allow distance, and isn't a little distance good when dealing with a deadly confrontation?

As far hostage situations, isn't that what more precise firearms are for, say a sub-gun like an MP5 or an assault rifle like a short barrel AR?

I've done some training where you are required to close the distance were the most of the time your immediate firearm is on your hip forget the rifle and shotgun that is in the patrol car. You don't have time to run back and get the long guns, you need to handle it now.

Um, what if someone surprises you and you're fighting close quarters? Lot's of scenarios could play out where you'd need a "belly gun". Not all BG's are going to stand still like your paper target!

I found what you are looking for. All you need to do is buy a CZ-75 pistol (with rail) and you can attach this handy dandy tactical block/bayonet accessory. The coroner will have fun figuring out the injuries inflicted with this weapon. But seriously, you can attach the tactical block without the knife and it will act as a stand off device. The gun cannot be muzzle pushed out of battery. The jagged front end will also allow you to punch through a car window. So if you are ever called upon to assist someone who has locked their keys in their car.....

The only "easy" thing I could think of, and this is if you have a service model, is to put a 5" full length guide rod in it.

It would stick out past the muzzle by 1", but it would serve the purpose.

Just use the standard 4" springs and it would work just fine.

Wouldn't be able to knock the gun out of battery and if you have an open bottom holster, it would work with it.
