Hey gang,

I finally got my sights adjusted to where I can hit the 10 ring constantly.
I put a little testers white paint on the sight dots, tried to brighten them up a little, then tried a little experiment and put a small dot /line right in the middle of my rear sight. Kinda like what the Heine sights look like. Since the rear sights are a little narrow for me the extra line helped my old eyes and I was visually better able to keep the front sight in the center of the rear sight. It was easier to sight, and as I said I hit the 10 ring constantly.
Now of course I been wondering what it would be like to shoot Heine sights.
I been thinking of different sights for the gun, Been leaning towards the XS big dot ( using the smaller dot front sight)_
now maybe Heine's
Really have made any decisions
I kinda think its a bummer that you cant try out some of these sights first.
I've looked at sure sight, truglow, lasermax, advantage, heine, and big dot.
The truth is this is not a target gun. Its my everday carry, eventhough I love hitting the 10 ring, hitting center mass fast is all thats required.
Anyway some food for thought and discussion.
Gotta go,
Jack

My XD9SC has Springer Precision supplied and installed Heinie night sights. I'm a huge proponent of them. I'm super accurate with them and I'm quick to ready with them. I LOVE THEM for carry and I carry my XD9SC 95% of the time along with my P3AT now that I have one.

I have Meprolight 3-dot on my CZ P-01. I like shooting the Heinies much better. Obviously they aren't competition sights but even out target shooting I'm as accurate with my Heinie sights as I am with 3-dot notwithstanding the triggers of each gun.

By that I mean I have Heinie night sights on my PT1911 and I'm a much better shooter with that gun at distance due to the barrel length and the 1911 trigger.

Even so, I'm hitting inside a 6" circle 90%+ of the time at 15-20 yards with my XD9SC if I slow fire. I can open up a 2" jagged hole at 7 yards with it.

I've been told that the Big dot sights are not the best option for the 9mm sc.
The opinion was that heine sights were better.
I read a really good blog on a fellow who purchased the big dot sights, on another site. He really praised them, not as accurate as target sights, but for speed/acqusition of front sight/center body mass target.
I love hitting the 10 ring, as much as anybody else. BUT
The reality is that this is a carry gun, not my 5 " 1911 S&W.

I am interested in anybodys knowledge on heine or big dot sights.
Good luck
Jack
