In a world where smaller is better, I don't see the big improvement. Changing the grip angle by a point or two doesn't make a lot of sense when they had it right in the first place. I would have much rather seen them get a good deal smaller for better concealability than add custom backstraps and the big grip treads.

Maybe I'll be more excited when I get one in my hands.

I don't like the looks of the frame but I do dig the slide. Wonder if it will fit an older frame???????

I don't dig the grip but the slide looks neat.

Looks like an HK mated with a steyr

The XDs have the room for stipling and manipulationn of the grips, this due to the slots in the grips do not offer the customization potential, so for those true geeks on here its a major detractor, however for kids that want tacticool it is the way to go. It will give them enough sales to justify it, but I think the XD will stay more preferred, however seeing how many own the XDs many will buy these to have both options.

I like the XDs but for a 9mm I'll take a sig 225 or hk p30... weight doesn't matter to me. For a 45 though, the XDs are the only way to carry. Maybe this new style will make me want an xd in 9

I both like and dislike this gun. I'd like to handle one though for final judgment.

Anyone know what the barrel length is on the one shown? Kind of looks like a 4.5 if the frame is the same size. I would like the slide if it ended at the frame. Like the the scoop out for your trigger finger on the frame, but not the new grip texture.
