problems with accuracy

I've had problems with accuracy with my XD40. I've put about 700 rounds through it since I bought it and don't feel very confident in it. I'm used to pretty much shooting one hole groups at 15 yards and with the XD I'm all over the place. I usually shoot 150 to 200 rounds at a time and even using a rest can't seem to get any kind of decent groups out of this pistol.
After reading some of the other posts on here, I'm thinking it's probably me. The trigger just doesn't break the way I'm used to. I've thought about trading it for a 1911 style auto, but am going to try again, using some of the advice I've read here. So I'm heading to the range today with a couple hundred rounds to see if I can get better. I'll let you know how it goes.

Welcome to the forum. When I first got my XDs I noticed I was strangling the grip to make sure the grip safety was depressed. I got the same results as you are getting doing this. I lightened up on my grip a little bit and it really helped. You definitely don't want to limp wrist these XDs but relaxing some should help.
