Man,I really love those polish jobs.I want to do 1 to my O.D. ,40 service model. But I just bought the thing and am worried about the warranty.Do any of you know if I had some sort of issues with my pistol if SA would give me some grief.Or will they still honor the warranty.I just dont want to turn a gun with a lifetime warranty into a gun with no warranty.
But I really want to do a polish job.I think it would really set off the OD nicely. |

I havent had any customers complain about warranty issues with Glock , such as the slide above. One of them just sent in a fully polished gun I did and they actually wrote him a letter back and said it was passed all around the engineering office
But XD's I am not sure on. I havent had anyone say anything to me yet about them and I havent done alot of them like I have Glocks. I would be interested to hear what they say though. Good point.

Hello all,
I found that heavy metal polish-green (medium) is pretty much order on line only- same with Flitz , is there something that works in the same fashion as this does or? I want to be able to go down to home depot or a auto parts store and just buy what is needed, I hate waiting for sucha simple task. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Noel |

I think those are sweet. But i have a question. how do you prevent rust now that you have removed the factory finish? I only ask because i want to polish mine but i carry it in a leather holster and dont want to keep it soaked in oil.

I used Eastwood polishing compounds on mine -- the white and the red rouge. Probably not exactly the right setup for this, but it went fast and came out nice. |

i polished mine 2 months ago and i have not seen any signs of rust. the only thing i've put on it is a LIGHT coat of oil wiped dry with a cloth after a trip to the range. i live in South Florida and the humidity is as bad as it gets. not to mention im only about 6 miles from the ocean. i would think if it's gonna rust it would rust here. so far, so good.
