Wow, polishing it gives it a nice touch. I like it. I'll probably try it when my XD gets a little "older".

Looks good man. I did the same to my 9 Tac. That little bit of polishing on the barrel sets it off nicely.

The polished parts clean up SO much easier too.

Then I decided go with stainless steel barrels on the 9 and .40 service.

That looks pretty good to me. I always shine up my barrels with Flitz. Takes longer but I have nothing better to do.

Looks great, the barrel shroud is pretty much the only external part of my XD that shows any wear at all - and it probably showed wear on the day I bought it.
