I need suggestions for an XD slide refinish job. Please help - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering what is the best way to have the slide on my subby refinished. It has some pretty bad scratches that I'm worried about. What is a durable and cost effective (cheap?) solution?

Please point me in the right direction.

You did remind me of the warranty though, which I thank you for.

I guess that means I have to send it to Springfield for Armory Kote?

Anyone know the difference between Armory Kote and Black T finishes? Or what Black T is?

Black T is more durable and more expensive. If you are going to have it refinished I recommend shelling out a few more bucks for the better finish. Try searching this forum for more info on both. Or call Springfield. They are usually very helpful.

That being said, I am seriously thinking about sending my subby to robar for refinishing.

PS I doubt that a refinish will void the warranty but check with springfield first.

PPS Make sure you have done all modifications before refinishing ie trigger job etc

I sent my HS2000 to Robar for the NP3. I love it, although it looks a little like a "pimp gun."

My next gun (hopefully a subcompact when we get CCW in this state) will be going to Mac's Shootin' Irons when I can get the money. I recommend looking at his services. He was the first to offer refinishing for us HS2K owners and several folks had stuff done by him and were very satisfied.[/url]
