Custom vs. Factory Barrels on an XD
Is there any benefit gained in accuracy by upgrading to a custom fitted match barrel in an XD? My understanding is in a 1911 type handgun because of the way it is constructed. But I was wondering if it were true for the XD.
Has anyone upgraded to a custom barrel on the XD? Is the benefit worth the cost? Thanks! -- Jeff XD-40 4" |

Any time you tighten the fit of the barrel and/or fit the barrel to your gun, it will be more accurate. The XD stock barrel, like most stock barrels, are decent and affective for "combat" shooting. If you want precision, that is where a fitted or Match barrel will come into play.
