You're hopeless It means there is nothing wrong with the sights on the gun. You need to work on your trigger technique, low left generally means you are not sqeezing the trigger straight back. Without being with you while shooting it's hard to say but, if you are right handed you are applying pressure on the trigger left and down. Try to determine what would make you do that, it could be you grip on the gun, the size of your hand or the length of your trigger finger. Look at all things that may have an effect on you being able to pull the trigger straight back.

I have a friend in LE, a top-notch pistol shooter. He said he'd come to the pistol range and "watch" what I'm doing (wrong). What confuses me is when I made a V in the sandbags and put my right forearm in the V, & parallel thumb grip on the XD with both hands, my shots were still low/left at 7 yards.

Was shooting low left

I had been shooting low left with both my XD9 and XD 45. I got some lessons several weeks ago, straightened out my grip, trigger pull and a bunch of other stuff. I got the 9 in the middle of the target. I have been shooting for about 2 years and needed the help. Oh yeah, I'm pre boomer. Love shooting!!!

The lessons were great. I only used my 9 and fired about 600 rounds on Sat and Sun.
