The reason I don't think that is the case is because I do shoot well with the .22.

Either way, I'm going to have someone look at how I shoot and see if they can diagnose the problem.

It's possible it's the gun. My XD9 shot well right out of the box but my XD45 was WAY low.

Do what I did... get a couple of experienced shooters to try the gun to verify it's the gun and not you. Shoot it off a rest. And lastly we put a laser bore sighter in it and confirmed by all tests the gun was shooting low.

Springfield quickly sent me a higher rear sight and a little testing to check windage after installing the new sight and now it's right where it should be.

If your gun has a "G" rear sight, it might need the "H" sight which is the higher one.

JoeyWhat... Have a buddy take pictures of you shooting. Some hold the gun and arm to low and the head is low on the side. Try lifting the gun up more so that it is even with your aiming eye. This will cause the front of the bbl to come up. When the gun and arm are low or the head is cranked over to the side it may cause you to push and or look down the bbl and dropping the front end. Good luck.

glad to see it may be my problem that i am shooting low and to the left. we set up a course today with some targets at a friends house and i had one run were i hit almost nothing! i have only put about 150 rounds through my xd and i was getting nervous that i was shooting low with an idpa night coming up at my range. towards the end of the day i seemed to be getting a little better, just shooting a little left now. hopefully the more i shoot it the better i get at it.

We should have a "Low and to the Left" Club.

I put XS Big Dots on my XD45 hoping it might magically solve the low/left problem and went to the range with $75 worth of ammo. The rangemaster put 2 of 2 in the black at 7 yards, off the sandbag, I still shot low and left. I tried my S&W model 36, 2" barrel and put 5/5 into the black where I was aiming, confirmed I know how to shoot a handgun.

I moved my rear sight to the right, and using JB Weld and steel-repair epoxy built-up the rear XD sight by about 3/16" making it higher. I need to get back to the range to see it it fixes the problem, and does not get knocked off by the slide cycling.

The range master watched me shoot, just off the tip of my trigger finger, parallel-thumbs grip, good stance he said.

At $75 per session, I can't afford to re-learn how to shoot a gun. I've tried the dime on the front sight training drill, laser and hundred of dry fires drill too.

What did you learn from this?

He can shoot my XD just fine, I don't. Sure goes against the XD brochure that said "point and shoot" with the woman's hand, doesn't it?
