hahah, I feel you there. I just ordered new ones a week ago, but they haven't come in yet. I have a terrible time seeing anything past 10 feet, actually.

I'll get a chance to put it on some sandbags when i shoot at the outdoor range near my parents. The indoor range I shoot at now really isn't setup for that.
then you are gripping too tight, it is more of a balance of push / pull, pressure grip.

Try the sandbag approach and see before making a final decision

I also had a similar problem when I got my XD45C, I shot low and left. I found out I was placing my finger on the trigger between the knuckles and when I started placing the trigger between the tip and the knuckle it helped correct the problem.

WARNING TO ALL MALE WOULD BE CRIMINALS!!!!!

My wife shoots low and I mean low with the XD SC 9MM!

Try shooting from a bench rest and see where you hit and have someone else shoot it. Shooting low and left is very common for new right hand XD owners. Make sure you are not pushing the gun forward or down trying to control recoil. Which is my wife's problem.

Don't try to correct your point of aim make sure you aim at the same spot every time. You want one ragged hole not a shot gun pattern. Once you are consistant you can work on the basics to get you on target ie. finger position, trigger pull, grip, sight alignment ect..... Have someone watch you also helps or video tape it.

Could be my trigger finger...I typically use my knuckle as I find it more comfortable.

TBH, I don't think this could possibly be entirely my fault. There's just now way I could shoot that low. I'm talking about almost 8" at 5 yards, here...

But either way, it'll see a bunch soon after I buy it. The one thing the DNR range by me is good for are good range stalls, including decent sandbags.

Also, I finally got my new glasses today, so I can see again! Maybe I only though I was aiming at the target...

When I got my first XD 357 SIG I swore up and down the sights were off low and left in one hole. After about 300 rnds and working on my grip, finger placement and trigger pull. I found it was on the money. Shooting it from a bench showed me it was not the gun. I never owned a plastic gun before so the transition from a Beretta 92 and S&W 4006 was a totally different trigger feel and pull.

I also ran a hundred rounds shooting low and left and I've had a markmanship class and knew it would be harder because the 40 sub was small, 3 inch barrel. I installed truglo's and my problem disappeared. Not sure why, maybe the front sight drift? After about 275 rounds I'll shoot about 3 inch groups at 40 feet. My sig sp2022 40 will hit a coke cap at 40,but it's a four inch barrel. But I love the xd more.

OK, so it's officially my fault for shooting so low...just got back from the range and shot five different guns..M&P45, Colt Defender, Taurus PT99, FN Fiveseven, and my Walther P22. I was shooting damn fine with the P22, but EVERYTHING else yielded low shots.

I did fix it for about half a mag with the M&P, but it showed up again before I emptied it and I didn't know what I had done. I tried holding the gun slightly different, straight arms, relaxed arms, head looking up (like looking under my glass) and looking down....everything. I did go with my dad, and he helped me a bit...found I flinch every once in a while. But not enough to warrant EVERY shot going low.

My only other theory is the gun weight. My P22 is very light, whereas the others were quite a bit heavier. Perhaps I wasn't holding the gun up properly?

I think I'll take a class or something and see about fixing the problem...I'm probably doing something simple wrong. I can hit center of mass at 10 yards, so it's sufficient for the time being...taking my CPL course in 2 weeks.

Have you tried just dry firing the gun and seeing if you are pulling it down somewhat when you pull the trigger? The other day I was messing around with the trigger pull and noticed that the way I pull the trigger I tip the gun low and left slightly but enough to cause it to shoot low.

Make sure you have the sights at eye level and are looking level along the sight plane. It is very easy to drop the sight down and be looking at the sight plane from an angle causing you to lower the front sight to line up with the rear. The opposite would happen if you were hold the sights higher than eye level.
