Welcome to the family brother!
This will make you feel better...... My G22 is now a safe queen. I've had that thing since '97 and after the first time I shot an XD (my .45 Service) I never cared to shoot a Glock again. I sold my G21 years ago, hated the size of the grip and the hump at the bottom of the grips annoys me. Put it up against my .40 Service and it's no contest. I'll take the XD any time. Once you take that thing apart fully (do yoursef a favor and spend the $20 or $30 bucks on the AGI video) and see the difference in the quality of the parts, you'll never regret your decision. I take it out every now and then, but only when I don't feel like cleaning up my XD's. I'll shoot the G22 and then put it in the safe, clean it when I get to it. I would never treat my XD's so badly.

Welcome to the forum!
As soon as you have about 500 rounds through it, get yourself (and your baby) a Powder River Precision Striker Safety Lever. I did and it was like getting a new XD! It cost less than $50.00 and took me about an hour-and-half to install. It was my first tear-down. I was very careful with every aspect of it.

Sold my glock23 and bought an xd40 subcompact. Glock is a great gun but I have never regretted my decision.

I'm a new XD family member as well. I picked up my new XD 45 Service this morning. Inspected and cleaned it and was off to the range. Sweet! just Sweet. 200 rounds of various ammo. Not so much as a hiccup. Straight shooter.
Very nice. I was beginning to think I just could not shoot a 45 any more based on the POS the XD replaces. Won't mention the brand, but it's a bunch of bull. |
