Porting is designed to reduce felt recoil and "muzzle flip" by directing some of the gas out the ports in the barrel. They are generally advised against for CCW because the extra muzzle flash can temporarily blind you in a dark situation.

Yes I have seen ported bitones.

it reduces muzzle rise but it increases noise and muzzle flash so if its a self defence gun i wouldnt get it but for a target gun i might get it.
i have heard of reports of the slide cracking but in every one they said Springfield replaced it no problem and some people even said they were able to switch back to a regular non-ported xd after their V-10 cracked. i dont know if the problem has been fixed or not or how common it is but i do know it has happened.

also dont worry about searching too much, ill search a little bit for something first but the search on here is not very good at all and most of the time you have to sift through hundreds of pages of crap before you find one that is similar to yours and then after all that you still have a question and you have to post anyways. you might have been able to find the answer to your question but it really isnt asked that much so i think you would have been searching for a while

no no no
i wasnt replying to you i was saying that to the guy that said
"search function, please"
i have NO problem with you starting a thread
you get much better responses when its your thread and you can ask follow up questions much easier and usually get much better answers to your thread.
