New xd9sc owner
Hello everyone.
I just purchased a nib xd9sc and am really impressed. I was looking for a good cc gun and I also purchased a crossbreed holster per the recomendations of people on this site.(It should come in a couple weeks hopefully with my new ccw permit.) The gun shoots great and feeds different ammo w/o any hiccups. I had a couple questions though- 1. My rear site is not centered and I was wondering what is the best way to adjust it without damaging it? 2. There was several tiny spots of rust on the inside of the slide and next to the trigger. It came off very easily with break free but was wondering is this common for the xd's to have a little rust? Should I be upset with the dealer about this? This is only my third hand gun and have not experianced any issues like this at all. I believe(& hope these are minor issues). The gun feels great and I shoot it just as good if not better than my full size guns. Double taps are a breeze with this thing. Any ways thanks for the help and excited to join the xd family. |

Welcome to the forum from NC.
I don't think that you should get upset at the dealer, but I do think that you should tell him your concerns. He may have some reasonable answers to them, or it may be something that he needs to take up with SA. You say that you can shoot the gun accurately, how can it be that the rear sight is not centered? Are you using a micrometer to tell for certain that the sight is off center?

XD9sc
I carry an XD9sc, and I think it is a great pistol. I soak a clean cloth with Break Free and wipe any gun I carry to clean the outside of the pistol. All of my guns show wear after being carried and shot for several years. Enjoy your XD. I have a Crossbreed holster, you will love the combination. Be safe.

I've got the same setup; XD 9MM SC with Crossbreed and it works great. I've carried the XD 9MM for about 2 years.
Got to be honest though the XD stays at home quite a bit now that I have a Kahr PM9. It's lighter and smaller and still 9MM with +P. I found if I'm going to carry the XD I'll put on the XD 357 Service and leave the 9MM SC at home.

Only the rear sites are off and not by much but you can tell. I only shoot with the front sight which I have been taught so the rear sights don't effect my accuracy just the cosmetic looks. |

My carry combination is a XD9mmSC and a CBST. Good choice and welcome from Alaska.

XDs are boresighted at the factory, the sight is probably off a bit for a reason.

Shock & Awe, I use Speer Gold Dot JHP 165 GR in my Xd 40 SC.I also like to carry CorBon DPX for self defense. You can purchase any of these as they are mfg. in 9MM as well.
