buying an XD40 SC - give me some feedback!
Well guys, after debating back & forth between the 4" service and the subcompact, I've opted to go with the latter. I think the service fits my hand better, but ultimately I asked myself what would the gun primarily be used for. I want a gun to carry concealed, plus the mag extension will give me a full grip should I decide I want or need it. The 40 sc fits the bill.
Now for some questions.... *Current owners of the XD 40 subcompact - how well do you like it, and is there anything I need to watch out for? *Holsters - what do you recommend for cc? I'd like to get possibly a Desantis leather one, and/or a Crossbreed Supertuck. I'm really excited!! It's going to be fun shooting!! |

I was in the same situation but ended up going with the Service model. My buddy has the subcompact and after shooting mine he said it felt better than his, less muzzle flip. I enjoyed shooting both and am thinking about getting a grip chop done so that I can have the best of both worlds.

I have had the SC since jan and every time out I like it more. Depending on your size and how you want to conceal it the extended mag can cause problems. The first thing that I would do is put some good grip extensions on the short mag.
The only holster that I will use is the super truck. But there are others on here that may have more experience with other holsters. Welcome to the forum from Auburn AL. Sorry about the edit but here is a pic of mine

Cool, thanks for the tips. I've already planned on putting Pearce grip extensions on it. Does anyone have anymore pics of their subcompacts??

Hey Glock Killer, thanks for the pic. What size Hogue Hand-all is that? And how did you cut it to make it fit with the grip safety?
