I made another XD convert
I took an old friend out shooting last week. He'd mentioned wanting to get into pistol shooting and wasn't quite sure what to buy.
I did my standard thing, taking about 20 handguns of various makes and models to the range and explaining the features of each. My XDs came along as well, and he seemed to be impressed with the 4" XD40. He called me up a few days later to tell me he'd bought an XD9. He said he had originally bought a Steyr M9 earlier in the week, but had been unable to find holsters or magazines for it. So he sold it back and got the XD9. Shooting it later, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Springfield Finger Mangler Trigger System (TM) was not present. His trigger was quite comfortable to use and didn't threaten to raise a blister like my 4" XD was prone to do out of the box. I also noticed the second notch on the light rail, much to our delight. I had brought along an XML light and he bought it from me on the spot. So chalk up another convert for the XD. |

I find converting people to XD simple, just let them shoot one. So far I have had several converts. It is especialy fun to convert LEOs and military who are stuck on Glock or Beretta. I do however warn that this method also works pretty well for CZ-75s. I have converted more to CZs then to XDs, but then again I have had my CZ longer.

Part of the reason he bought the XD was due to the behavior of the Glock fanboys. Even if the Glock really was all that, the way some of those people act is enough to turn anybody off.
It's almost like every Glock sold comes with a videotape, "How To Be A Blindly Brand-Loyal Douchebag" and a packet of grape Kool-Aid. |

Since his XD-9 service is a new one with the two notch rail...I am curious which mags came with it. 15 0r 16. I just got a new one but the rail had just one notch and it came with two 15 rder's.

Hello all. First post. I didn't know that two notches was an option. I've read and looked for hours, and never heard mention of two rails. I just purchased my XD9 about 5 hours ago. Shot 50 rounds through it before I left the store. Don't worry, it was a gun range/gun store. The guy that sold it too me gave me range time for free. So me and the wife shot about half a box each (I may have got a few more rounds than she did

I wouldn't miss it, it's only for the XML and you'd be better off buying an M3 or M3X for the XD Service anyway. |
